Default Slow/Hard to Start

So I used to think this was normal on my '10 FXDC, but now that the weather has come around the other more "fair weather" riders have come out and I've found that it isn't normal that it takes a good 5-10 seconds of holding down the Start button for the bike to start. There's some sputtering during that time and sometimes it takes a little boost from the throttle too. Others I've seen start up significantly faster without the sputtering that my bike experiences (Dyna's to Ultra's). Is there something I should take a look at or an upgrade I should be looking at to eliminate this? Or am I just being overly critical of my scoot and everything is just fine?

No, I do not think you are being overly critical on this.................

Your bike should kick after about 3 engine revolution's...........

Check your spark plugs for fouling ..................This would be my first check, usually that is the the issue............
Check your spark plug wire's, I know the stock Harley wire's are prone to internal breakage, mine did.............
Check your air cleaner, make sure she is not really dirty.......
May also check coils, may be weak..........
Make sure to check all connection's............

Probably just something simple............

I would start with the simple item's first, and hopefully that will fix the issue.

Thanks for the input. My only thought had been plugs. I'll be taking a look when I get home from work.
