Looks good bro, what brand did you go with and did you stay with stock gearing?

Mine is also an '05...and I've also considered switching to chain and use a ratio that would give me a little more torque...

Considering that I live in Central America, working with a chain is easier for the untrained, medium-skilled mechanics we have here (and noobs like me)...

Why would you want a chain? What are the benefits?

Playing around with gear ratios is one of the reasons I'm sure. For someone like me who is more of a city rider than a canyon carver (due to work and college, and whatnot...wish I got paid to ride *sigh*) I think I would benefit more from extra torque than a higher top speed...

I think drive belt technology in it's current form is one the greatest advancements in motorcycle tech in a long time. Chains and sprockets are a huge, messy pain in the ***.

I dont see why everyone says chains are a pain in the ***? I rode nothing but sport bikes before my harley so maybe Im just use to it. Chains are pretty cheap and a lot easier to change then a belt.

Chains are easy to maintain and gearing changes are cheap and quick. I'd like to do the conversion but they are a bit steep on price.

May end up doing this.I have to ride dirt roads and the sand
is really eating the teeth on the sprocket and drive gear.

The kits are a little pricey, everyone has them for $440-$500 for newer dynas, but I am looking at everything separately and its not too bad. Only thing I need to figure out is what size spacer I am gonna need for the rear.

PBI Front Sprocket $99.30 retail
PBI Rear Sprocket $57.40 retail
and you can find a good chain for $200 and under

Thats all retail prices too....
