Possible to put 49mm Mid Glide on 02 FXD?
I'd like to upgrade my 39mm narrow glide front end to the newer 49mm mid glide after riding my cousins new bike. Not only does it look better, ride smoother, but it feels like it has much more resistance to torsional twisting when cranking through corners.
Is there anyone out there that has done this swap? Is it even possible?

What you can or can not do
I guess you can do anything you want to do. You are correct on your evaluation. 2005 FXDLI with 2006 FXDB trees, 49mm fork tubes, V-Rod lowers, 320mm MMC rotors, real Brembo calipers w/my adapters, & my 30mm compression/rebound, & spring pre-load adjustable cartridges.

lose your steering head lock.
I did it - then I ended going fatbob trees after that.. Check out my album - this is a 39mm to a 49mm midglide on my 01.

And what difference does the Fat Bob tree setup allow for? Fatter front tire I assume?
