Default Burly Brand Fork Preload Adjusters

Not sure if any one has seen or used these yet. I saw them yesterday in an email and figured I would share the news seeing as to how there is always someone looking for fork suspension upgrades. They go for $140. Would like to know how well they work, guess I be waiting on that.

I've had preload adjusters on both my Sportster 1200S and Triumph Thunderbird Sport. They are standard on any cartridge type fork shock I guess. Once you dial in your preload for the correct rider sag for your weight, they are pretty much set and forget. Some may adjust slightly for different tire and track conditions but that is when you are working the suspension to the limits of adheasion.

In short, they are absolutely cool as hell looking... but definately not where I would spend my first $140 in suspension upgrades. These would be third after Ricor Intimidators and correct spring rate springs

I bought these and was going to run them on my set up because I liked how they looked, but ended up selling them and getting the RSD preload adjusters because after a little research I found out that these have only .78" of adjustment and the RSD ones have 1.15" of adjustment. I believe only Burly, Speed Merchant and RSD make them for 49MM forks and RSD has the most adjustment, then the Speed Merchants which is just under 1", then the Burly ones. So for around the same price I would run the RSD ones.

Glad you liked the design and commend you on doing the research! You are 100% correct as to how much adjustment is offered by each brand. After doing much testing we have found that adding too much preload can result in coil bind. We have also found that 20mm is just enough adjustment to help prevent a bind.

Feel free to give us a ring to better explain if needed.
