Need help changing the headlight bulb
Yes...as dumb as this sounds i need help so please don't laugh. I just bought 2 Performance Headlamp Bulbs part #67074-02 for my 2008 FXDF Fat Bob so i could get the brighter whiter/blue light. I took the headlight apart today. I got to the old bulb's but can't figure out how to change them out with these new bulbs. honestly, the bulbs i got look different from the stock bulbs. New bulbs have 3 prongs, old bulbs have some sort of plug that plugs into the bulb socket connected to the bike. Can someone help? Possibly run me through what to do?

after noticing the date on this, you most likely already got a reply. I would be willing to bet they sold you the wrong bulbs. most HD dealers don't carry the FXDF headlight bulbs. They take an unusual type bulb and it is an H13 or 9008 bulb. the bases are different and have like 2 little wings on them for turning them in and out of the headlight reflectors. They took me a while the first time. You just about have to completely disassemble the head light to replace the bulbs. it can be done on the bike, but taking the light off the mount makes it easier. There are several screws that need to be removed and then the back comes off. The bulbs then can be turned and removed and the new bulbs replaced. The second time is much easier, lol.

Old post but I have the same dumb question for my 2012 Fat Bob...
I had no problem removing the trim ring or separating the bulb and headlamp connector from the back of the headlamp lens, but I can't figure out how to separate the bulb from the connector. Looks like it should pull straight out but it doesn't seem to want to. There is a red tab on the connector that slides in and out. I have tried it in both positions, but doesn't seem to make a difference.
