I replaced my 99Ultra headlight bulb with a HD bulb and Now it's like the top of the light pattern is dark. I can light up a wall from 30ft and the patterm on the wall is like I covered the top 1/4 of the headlight bulb with my hand or something. It's preaty noticeable when I pull in from the street and my driveway starts uphill. The HI beam does not Do this, and there is good light from both the hi an low beams.
Is there a top and bottom to these headlight bulbs? The replacement seemed to fit in and wire locked in place correctly. And there wasn't any problems at all durring the reassembly.
So does anyone have a clue as to why there would be this NO LIGHT area? Thanks JB
You may have the lamp in upside down. Take off the trim ring and remove the lamp and rotate it only 180* and re-install it. Then take for a nite test ride.
When you replace the bulb it is important that you don't touch the bulb itself as the oil from your fingers and hands can cause hot spots which can lead to problems. Other than that, it couild be a bad bulb.
Yea I was extra careful to not touch the bulb so that should rule out. As for rotating the lamp, I guess that's my next try. I just hated to go thru that. but I thought with the ears and notches there was only on way for things to go back. And the clear headlamp globe that has H4 on it shows it is rightside up. So I'll take it out again and check everything out and let you guys know. Thanks JB
