Question Turn On Switch and Nothing - Help Needed

My ride is 97 FLSTC and yesterday rode about 80 miles. Came home and sat for about 3 hours. When out to fire it up. Turned on the switch hit the starter button and "click"! No power no lights no nothing. Hoping it was just a loose connection.
Check battery connections and grounds making sure all are tight. Battery has plenty of juice. Pulled console and check for power to the switch .. got power in the plug to the switch. Check switch posts for continuity and appears okay.
Not sure where to go from here. Any advise? I would check the main circuit breaker but not sure where it is located and how to check it. Is the main circuit breaker under the oil tank mounted to the splash guard?
Kind of lost and would appreciate any input and advice.

Is there a fuse or breaker that would prevent power from going through the switch?

I believe that there are three circuit breakers in between the tanks. Remove the console switch cover, and trim piece for access. Are you sure that you have the run/kill switch on? Might sound like a stupid question, but we have all done it.

Kill switch is in the run position. Even if it were not, I would at least still get lights ....
Right now I get nothing. It is as if the battery has been disconnected.

Update - getting power through the switch. However, if I hit the start button or high beam or running light switch ... everything goes dark.
Pulling the headlight shortly then moving backwards to try and find SHORT.

If your have any other ideas, please post. I will consider anything.

Well ... feeling kind of dumb but problem solved.
Battery had gone south ..... It was 6 1/2 years old so I should not be unhappy about that.
New battery (Interstate high performance - like the one that was in there) = $100.95 before tax.

Happy camper now!
Thanks for all the ideas and support.
