2010 FXDF Headlamp goes off when Combo Analog Speedometer light comes on at dusk or night

2010 FXDF Headlamp goes off when Combo Analog Speedometer light comes on at dusk or night
Any thoughts on why my headlamp would go out only at dusk or night when the Combo Speedometer Tachometer display lights come on? All other lights work including flashers, Brake Light turn signals. This combo speedometer has a light sensor somewhere. Anyone know where the sensor is located?
