Gauge Fuse short

Gauge Fuse short
I had my 98 FLHR in for front end repairs recently at a local HD dealership. After picking up my bike, I noticed that my fuel gauge and neutral light were not working. After looking into the problem, my gauge fuse was blown, and whenever replaced would blow again as soon as the ignition switch was turned on. I tried tracing back the wires from the fuse block along the frame to the neutral light and also the the neutral sending switch on the trans, and also the wires going to the fuel gauge. I also disconnected both the fuel gauge and neutral sending switch, but the gauge fuse still blows immediately as soon as I turn on the ignition switch. I can’t find any cuts or bare wire causing the dead short. Has anyone had this same issue? I’m at a total loss!!!

You state :
"I had my 98 FLHR in for front end repairs recently at a local HD dealership."
What does front end repairs mean to you?
There are a lot of wires to front end..headlight, spot lights, TURN SIGNALS, Running Lights shared with turn signals, fender tip light.
Was fuel tank removed for front end work?
There are 12 wires to speedometer and a few more for indicator lights.
What do you have as a speedometer? factory original with the 12 wires or the updated plug and play speedometer?
