First post, just bought a new to me 2012 Softail Slim and love it. I recently had a b2223 rear brake switch code next day after a ride in rain. Noticed the license plate lights were out and thought that was reason for code. Replaced the license plate bulbs and still had red light and noted that brake lights were always on. Read on this forum and figured I had a bad rear brake switch and pulled off leads on rear brake switch and no more alert light. Ordered a new switch but still riding and using front brakes to get brake lights while riding. After riding an hour or so today I noticed red light back on for just a few seconds then off again and now I am getting a b2272 which is BCM/speedometer high voltage. Could running with open rear brake switch (disconnected) cause this? I did a voltage check across the battery at idle and got 14.30 v at idle and 2000. Thanks in advance for your help!
