Default ignition module?

I have a 2004 1200 sportster custom. I want to put on a solo after market seat. Is there any reason that I can't move the ignition module mounted under the seat. I want to move it next to the battery under the batter cover. The manual says it should not be moved.
Thanks

hmm.. that's weird. unless it has the TSM built into it. the TSM needs to be positioned appropriately for the cancelling to work correctly.

You can move it. I moved mine on my '04 sporty, and the only issue is that there's very little room under the side cover. You'll have to use some zipties or safety wire or something like that to secure the bottom of the cover.
