Default Customize or Upgrade to 2015 New Harley?

So I'm relatively new to the Harley club, I bought my 2007 Ultra Classic about 2 years ago and I've had some work done. So let me tell you my long story and would like some recommendations. What would you do and why?

Work I had done to the bike, had the guys at Classic Iron do the work, great guys and great work! I had the front and rear suspension lowered, added Andrews 26H Cam, adjustable rods, SE 103 Big Bore kits with SE Stage 1 Air Cleaner, S&S Dual Tuned Headers, Fueling 7060 high flow oil pump, Axtel oil pressure relief valve, Red Shift Dual Piston Cam Tensioners, Fullsac 2" core exhaust. I've also completed customized the entire audio system. I commute to work every day with my Ultra Classic 128 miles per day (round trip Fredericksburgs to DC and Back). Having the torque and HP to get away from heavy traffic is very important. By the way love the commute, it gets me ready for work and and helps me relax on the way home!

I am now wrestling with the idea of upgrading the pistons, S&S crank, Timken crank bearing, torrington cam bearing, andrews 57H, S&S or Zips upgraded heads, 58mm throttle body, Thundermax. It's roughly estimated at $8,000 with labor or I if did the work, about $6,000.

Here is the big the issue though, I'm 5-4 and I'm almost flat foot, but really want to have the flat foot security, especially when I'm backing up the bike. The new 2014/15 have the high output motors, almost the same improvements I had done to my 96 conversion to 103. However the newer models have the mid frame piece which can be changed out with the FBI kits and drops the seat by 3 inches without touching the suspension. Plus I was thinking about making some other engine improvements to the 2014/15.

I'm worried about the crank bearing, crank pin, bearing issues that I've read about. Are the newer Harley models better in this area?

What do you guys recommend? I want more power (torque and HP), but the bike is certainly fast enough, just like having the ability to get out of heavy traffic quicker. Do I customize more or do I get a new Ultra Limited with the FBI kit?

Thanks for your feedback!

Oh and forgot to add, that I had the seat modified by Mean City Cycles... They did a great job so I'm as low as I think I can reasonably be on the 07 Ultra Classic.

Sounds like you can afford it, I'd go new. The 09 up frames plus the Rushmore forks are a great start, There's an Ultra-Low out now. Visit your local dealer and have some fun test riding, And see what kind of deal you can make.

Be happy with what you have or sell it and buy what you want before you get to deep in $$$$$$ wise.

Thanks Smokey Stover, I did try the Ultra Limited Low, but found out it does come with heated grips. Need that for the winter.

Still wonder if the new rides fixed the crank bearing issue or is that a bunch of urban legend?

While new bikes do have more power ya more than likely are making more with your current setup. That said I wouldn't throw $6k at your '07. The newer frame and front end on '14 up bikes are really nice.

My buddy has the same bike as you and I've noticed that it feels much taller than my 2010 street glide. If I were you I would buy a street glide and put a 107" kit from fuelmoto on it for the power. You can always add a trunk and heated gear or whatever you need later on.

There is no thrill like the thrill of a new bike. Anything less is stalling.
