Does anyone know what the angle is between the lifters and the center-line of the cylinder on EVOs.. I assume that the angle is the same for the front and rear cylinders. More importantly, I'm trying to figure out how much each cam lobe is shifted to correct for the difference in lifter angles.. On twin-cams the lifters are parallel so the angle is zero..
Here you go Larry.. It's about 80% done on the software side.. Hardware is some left over parts when I retired.. The cam is a crane H314 TC prototype that I aquired about 10 years ago.. Last pic shows how the cam meets the specs from Ron A.. Note that the numbers match up pretty well.
What build Its this long duration cam going into? I bet it has quite the thump and an rpm range to what like 3500-7200. Would be nice to get the rest of the motor specs...

It pulled pretty well all the way down to 2K actually.. Heads were cnc ported 00 castings with 2 in intake, 1.61 ex, 1.62 intake ports, bored G, dtt, KW Ar100 pipes (OMG they are true duals) 116 ci 10.8 to 1 cr..
Untuned run.. Cam came out and was replaced with an SnS625 gear cam which made a couple less HP / tq but was much quieter about 10 years ago. It has been sitting in a box since.. Notice it's not gear drive.. Early tensioners couldn't keep the chains from slapping.
But the whole point is not to use the cam but to show I made a tool to measure cams..

Does this help ...? On the Evo Big Twins the camshaft is located rear-of-center 3/32".
Rivera make/used to make fancy rocker arm geometry to correct it.

No not really... But thanks for the offer of info. If you look at the fixture, the digital indicator slides parallel to the cam.. I need to know the angle that the lifters come in at at to translate the lobe readings to the proper position. Larry got em for me..Thanks Larry..
Larry, the SW interface looks nicer probably because it is more oriented towards HDs..
