Seems to be something to do with the material used in the liners infringes on a HD patent. Reports on another forum say S&S already has a replacement in the pipeline.

Apparently S&S uses the same steel in their liners that H-D does, and H-D considers that to be patent infringement. With that said, H-D issued S&S a letter request that they "cease production" of the products that use this material. Which S&S has done.

Supposedly, the material that S&S will be using exhibits better heat transfer and leakdown properties than the material it replaces. Not that (as I've heard) the old material was lacking in any way.

"Material infringement".........what is next?......we are breathing the air needed to correctly power the "their" bikes?
Comical, but sad also.

Dat's right !! That would be like Ford suing Chevy for using "steel" in their cars....or Exxon suing Shell for using the same material to make gasoline !!!

Serious ??? ...has got to be more to it than that ....uh ???
