Thumbs down S&S cams - NOT de-burred??

I've now received 3 sets of S&S MR103CE cams from 2 different vendors and all 3 sets suffer from the same fate, the rear cam chain sprocket is not de-burred properly! Has anyone else ever had these problems with S&S and what did you do about it beyond not buying S&S ever again?

Almost looks as if they were used cams. What vendors are you using? Cheap internet/off brand stuff; they be selling returns.

Not a big deal to touch-up the burrs though. How do the lobes and journals look?

The lobes, runners everything else is smooth like a baby's bottom. The seller's I've used are PDI-Racing & PowerSport Superstore (through Amazon).

Just de-burr and clean them up; won't take long.

Saw a set exactly like that posted here or on another forum recently; can't recall which one. The purchaser contacted S&S and new cam set was sent; return and supply of new cams all on S&S nickel IIRC.

I believe that's what S&S is about to do for me as well, sent them an email this morning and called them later and a few minutes after that an email arrived asking me for a copy of my invoice and shipping address, guess I will be receiving something from them.

However if you also saw pictures like these recently elsewhere it does beg the question, what does their quality control look like?

Powersport is the company recently going through bankruptcy I believe. Wouldnt be a stretch to think these could be someone elses returns for the same reason

Looks like the cutter(?) needed to be sharpened and/or replaced.

Just de-burr and clean them up...won't take long. Coming from 46 years in the machine shop world, these part are probably deburred in a tumbler with a medium and by hand. They simply missed that one. Happens. Bet they will apologize and show you some reward.
Don't do it on here. .
They are top of the line. Doing this on here makes you look like a tin man for another maker.
