The whole point of me going into the bike in the first place was a low oil pressure problem when the bike was hot. was reading 2-4psi at idle while hot when i believe its supposed to be 5-8. Normal idea being that the dude that did the cam swap didnt align the oil pump. Hense why im here.
Im not liking what im seeing. Was hoping i could get some opinions on what i got here.
the back of the plate where the oil pump mounts to
oil pump inner wall
Cams seem ok, no discoloration, some very slight pitting though.
Not liking these lifters though, thats whats concerning me. thats not flaking and is smooth but still.
Oil was not glitterly, magnet had nothing. Im checking run-out tomorrow, have to borrow a gauge from work. Appreciate anybodys two cents here. thank you.
Pictures can be deceiving but the pump, plate and lifters look like they should be replaced; runout will tell more. 2-4pis vs 5-8 is actual vs spec via a gauge that could be off a bit and measuring at idle is not be best check of oil pressure. Check pressure at cruise rpms.

already did that partner. used a digital pressure gauge thats calitbrated yearly from work. wasnt concerned with pressure at idle, idiot light kept coming on after a ride and coming to a stop though.
crusing pressure was at 13 give or take a pound or 2 at rpm. I have ordered new lifters and pump. now the pump i ordered is a drag specialities "preformance" pump. unlike the stock pump, the gearotors dont ride on the plate, this comes with some sort of spacer deal that holds in the gearotors. comes with longer bolts too. im wondering if i could get away with reusing the plate in this instance.
We see a fair amount of pumps come thru with wear.
Not uncommon.
That Drag "Daytona" pump, does work well.
.007" TIR is something that makes me raise my eyebrow.
