Default Possible Cam Swap, advice needed

While i'm in my cam chest replacing the cam plate and oil pump, I'm looking at possibly swapping out my Tman590s to a set of Wood tw400-6s. My goal is to achieve maximum off the line torque. Would it even be worth the potential gains?

By going to the 400-6 it will move the torque curve a little to the left. I don't think it would be a value though. You might want to look at the 408-6. I think it would be a better improvement over the other 2 cams.. Best to call Scott at hillside, I know he loves Woods cams.. Also believe it's a better move because of your 10.8:1 static..

Can I jump in here and ask...what is the real story of cams not being sold in California. A reliable source told me that it is because of EPA regulations. Is this true?

So what do you do, act like some kind of drug dealer and bring them in across state lines?

A trusted friend in another state as a straw buyer and then ships them to you encased in a fruitcake.

At 10.8 cr, you are over the compression threshold for the 400, or at least here.
I will say this, the 400 ramps are VERY aggressive and can be 'sewing machine' noisy.
Scale the squeeze back a tick and those will work, as will the 408-6, and/or a T-Man .660-PS-2.
Our Sport-Touring 117"s here, receive a Wood 9F set at the proper compression, big, broad torque.
They run very well.
Scott
