Default 80 evo Big Bore Kit

I have a 99 heritage softail classic 1340 80 evo, it's getting up there in mileage so I was wanting to go with a big bore kit, nothing that requires an machine work or different crank.... i wouldn't care to have some work done on the stock heads or find a different set if needed....I don't want a race engine just want some more pull power with reliability.... everything is still stock except it has a Andrew's ev 27 cam adjustable pushrods an aftermarket ignition, Vance an Hines longshots no baffles an k&n air filter.... I found one on dennis kirk website, just needing help on if this would be a good kit or another kit would be better....

That's an 88" TC bolt on big bore kit... Will not work on an Evo case...

85" is as big as you can go with no machining with a evo

Unfortunately, this kit is for the Twin Cam engines. So your best option to increase engine size is to install stroker flywheels and have the heads ported. At that point you may want to select a different cam as well. But at some point you will be limited by the EVO cases and the cylinder size they will accommodate.

If it were me, I would not bore the cases th accommodate larger cylinders because it weakens the area where the cylinders seal to the cases. The EVO is a great engine, but it was not designed to reliably produce 100 hp and 100 TQ. PART # 910-0481

Would the 85 big bore kit be worth it with my setup???? Like I was saying I just want some more get up an go when I have a passenger not really want a race engine or anything unreliable

The EV 27 is a little bump in hp/tq. But if your looking for more power without going into the cases then pull the top end down and send the jugs and heads to Kirby or Scott and have them fit a set of Wiseco with 10:1 pistons and Stage II the heads with the Woods W6 cam and it will be all you want. However You MUST get rid of those pipes.. Their good for nothing but noise.... Years ago I had that build and as powerful as it was, high 80's torque and horse was great and still got 52 mpg on the open road....

EVO do some head work. Find a good Cam for how you ride. Good pipes not just wide open crap pipes. AC and tune. Have a bike that will be almost bullet proof and run darn good for you.

What would be a good set of pipes for that build???? Still have baffles if they need to be put back in, also still has stock carburetor

The stock header pipes with cross over work very well. With some tapered turbo mufflers like those made by khromewerks. Had that combo on my last evo and performed way better than mates using vance and ***** pipes and similar. Sounded nice and deep too and not obnoxiously loud and raspy

Supertrapps when tuned properly work very well..
