Think I'm gonna ditch the idea of using the cams I have. I know people will say Wood's W6. I've heard they make a lot of valve train noise. So that is a no go for me. Any other suggestions? These specs don't look to bad.

With S&S Lifters, Beehive valve springs, S&S adjustable pushrods and set to .140" (roughly 4 turns and 2 flats) depth, I've never had an issue.. quiet as can be... You see it's all about spring pressure and fast ramping cams.. I know guys that went with the EV27 and couldn't quiet the valve trane down.. Stock springs don't cut it...

You are limited to about .500 lift unless the pistons your running have deep reliefs to accommodate more. So Max's recommendation on the SE-3 above will give you good low end torque but may run out of cam at higher RPM's The EVL-3030 will come the torque later and will pull harder at higher RPMS, but has .530 lift. So again, you should check for piston to valve interference unless the pistons are setup for any cam over about .500 lift.

It's the stock heads, guides and valve spring that limit the cam lift to .510"..
