Hi All, I overtightened and stripped the nut (only I hope) when installing the the shutoff valve to my tank. Im thinking the brass in the valve would strip before the metal tank tread. Also can I just use a 5/8 hose washer for the gasket....and where does the gasket go exactly. Was rushing...

as far as the washer, it has to be fuel tolerant. additives and alcohol will soften and decompose the rubber, do you want little black particles inside the carb???
