Default 2000 HD Road King FLHPI EFI Sensor ID

I suspect that this is an engine temp sensor. Is that correct?

Installs vertically into head and resides beneath the rocker assembly support. Does not look like the OEM which is throwing me off.

bOTE: this motor is finished with a Screaming Eagle Top side and an S&S 124 Stroker setup

Thank you in advance for any help!

No, in the top of the head would be an automatic compression release.
Usually wired in line with the starter enable, so it opens only during starting, and closes when you release the starter button.

Right on. Thank you for clarifying.
So this component has not been wired in on either cylinder since I had the bike. Is there something in the S&S system and software that negates the need for this item? I also had concerns as to whether this item could result in an oil leak as this is wha originallyt brought on this specific teardown. Also, the spade connectors don't exactly appear OEM either.

The heads may have come from S&S already setup for the ACRs, and only used them to plug the hole? May not need them, due to normal CR or EZ start cams.
They wouldn't cause an oil leak, only a loss of compression & power if it failed.

On my bike, 2002 TC 88. The temp sensor is on the left side, between the cylinders. It is a blind hole that it threads into.
