depends on what motor & what p/rods.some aftermarket p/rods have different threads per inch, and the amount of flats(or complete turns) will be different.its usually 4 turns though.do one at a time, bring lifter to its lowest point, unscrew p/rod to where you have 0 lash(just to where you can spin it with no up & down movement, unscrew 4 more turns (or what ever your brand of p/rods call for, tighten locknut AND DONT TURN OVER MOTOR UNTIL YOU CAN SPIN P/ROD AGAIN,once liter has bled down,go to next one and adjust same way

whats the best method to adjust valves with adjustable pushrods.
tom
Place the cylinder you want to adjust to tdc on compression. Loosen both pushrods until you can feel up and down play. Take up the up and down play only and adjust the require turns to compress the lifter on each pushrod. Tighten the jam nuts on the adjusters to spec. Wait a few minutes before rotating engine to the other cylinder for tdc compression. Repeat the process.

watch the "wait a few minutes and go to next cyl.",make sure you can spin the p/rods,or you`ll be pulling your head, replacing valves.if you havnt done it before, its easier to do one at a time, just make sure tappet is at its lowest point,no biggie
