I have read other threads and tried almost everything I have seen.

I just got my Father's 1994 883 Sportster and he had not started it since last July. I immediately put a new battery in and changed the spark plugs and drained the gas, but it still won't start. Can someone help me with what I am missing, before I push it into the back of my truck and take it to the shop?

 

Pull the carb and clean it out.
