Junk in the Crank Case

The moderators here, are well aware of this on-going practice and have a good handle on it.

I'm giving this man sound advice, to leave foreign material in the crank case is ludicrous, do you realize how close the piston oiling jets run to the crank wheels? if a piece of that bearing comes around it could easily knock them loose and then what? It's not about respect and anyone who suggests leaving material in the crank case and thinking it may or may not work is not giving the OP any respect either. The fix is simple, straightforward and right in front of him, no mystery just some time involved to pull things down and do it right.

I would have split the cases as you and others have posted but the OP had decided not to split the cases and try something else. However, I understand and respect his decision to take a chance on the mitigating preventative measures as I believe his logic is supported by physics; whether it works or not remains to be seen. However, I will bet a six pack the the OP will let us know the outcome and, if it doesn't work, all the naysayers can say "I told you so". So, let's wait and see what happens. Until then name callng and disparaging remarks don't have a place in this thread.

Man you guys are tuff, but that's why the OP is here- he wants opinions.
I think he did his due diligence in counting rollers and fishing around for the pieces.
Based on that and his tolerance for risk he did exactly what is correct for his situation.
I like magnets, especially strong ones.
I now know to stuff rags everywhere I don't want extra parts.
I don't think we'll hear a grenade story from him anytime soon, but we'll see.
I am doing cam tensioners myself soon so I'll be here asking for opinions also.
Thanks for the info.

Just to follow up and let everyone know, I've had he up and running now or a week or so and all is going fine. No issues what so ever. I'm not the least bit worried about any of the aforementioned disasterous hypothetical claims of what "could" go wrong. Again, what the magnets don't keep in place the screen will catch. I would never do any and I mean any internal work on any engine I work on with out installing at least a screen in the scavenge side of the pump for insurance.
Oh, and while on the subject of engines. I love the Andrews 21N cams! Nice upgrade. The hydraulic cam tensioners are great piece of mind as well. I have had a great time with this project and learned a great deal through the process.
Rosie II runs great although I am still dialing in the PCV mapping. That in it's self will be an ongoing project.
Again, I beg the forgiveness of all those I offended with the format of my OP. As I mentioned, it was done on my smart phone with gorilla thumbs. Please, let it go! This isn't a sentence structure based writing forum.
Thanks again for all the input and thoughts on this topic.
Event though you choose not to decide........You still have made a choice. (RUSH)
