Hi,

I assume that someone has told you that you can easily remove the cam cover with the pushrods in place. I do this all time and the secret is to remove the ignition so you can see the timing slot in the end of the cam and then turn the engine over until its pointing at the 5 o'clock position...

When its pointing there all the load is off the cam and you can just pop the cover off; piece of cake.

Cheers

It`s been mentioned but no position was given. What experiance I have autos had me wondering if there wasn`t a cam position to do this. If I may ask. Do you do this in just changing a cover out? Or for another reason I`m probably am not thinking of right now. Thanks WP

I guess ignorance is bliss.

I took my timing cover off about a year ago to have it powder coated. Had it off of there about a month. Didn't know I was supposed to remove the load from the cam before doing that.

I do have what I think is a lifter noise now, though I can't remember if it was happening before I did that or not.
