I have friends who have way over 100,000 miles on their drive belts. I am surprised to hear of failures. I have never (knock on wood) broken a drive belt. But I am pretty easy on it.

I have seen them break at 25,000 KILOMETERS!!! about 15,600 miles.

I had 115,000 on mine when it broke, but I really baby the bike. Never or almost never over 4,000 on the tach. No wheelies or burn outs. So take it for what it is worth.

When it did finally give out it was the result of water getting into the "rubber" part and rusting out two of the three steel belts.

Luck would have it, broke in my drive way. Still a 1/4 mile from my house but at least down slope.

The biggest PIA will be that you have to remove all the primary/clutch stuff and the left shock to get the new one on.
