Been looking at a spring seat set up. But all the parts would cost me close to $500 and it just isn't worth it to me for that look, plus if the ride sucks I'm out $500.

Looks like this set up will remain on my radar until I can dig deeper.
My effort is toward the look I am after, but my main concern of this set up was comfort.
I have a small solo on springs on my 74 Sporty which of course is not built for comfort. That is the around town, short run ride.
I had not even considered the height that you guys have mentioned. Thats why its great to post here.
Add to it the 4-500 bucks , that leaves no way to make this happen without checking out a bike with a set up.

I rode with my solo seat nearly 900 miles over a weekend the other month it was fine. ...
