Default Good S&S Experience

At 27k miles and 20 months into a 2 year warranty period, metal started showing up in the oil filter and oil on my S&S V111.
No odd noise and ran good, just barely started to loose a little oil pressure at idle.
I've always cut open and inspect my oil filters, good thing.

The pinion shaft was the sorce of the metal, and of coarse the metal circulated throughout the engine.

A call to S&S and the engine went back for inspection via a local S&S dealer.

I was later contacted by S&S and informed that they were going to send a new engine and that they wanted me to have a GOOD S&S EXPERIENCE!

Within 2 weeks a complete brand new engine was delivered.

All I can say is what a stand up company and yes i love the power and smoothness of the S&S 111!

One day after delivery the install was complete with new oil lines and cleaned out oil tank and cooler, and then it rained for 5 days straight,

so I did some other things I've been wanting to do, like install the custom passing light brackets with bullet turn signals like on the '15 bikes, and touch up some damaged spots and re-clear the batwing.

Put 350 breakin miles on last weekend, all under 3200rpm, and it's running like a champ.

Any indications as to why it happened, or if they had seen it before?

(and when you step up to one of their monster engines, let me know about your 111!)

Sure like my 96", about the only thing on my 89 that isn't getting some kind of mod or repair before the bike's back together from a top to bottom refurb. Fun having an EVO with some real grunt, too. Wonder what Harley would do in the same situation with one of their Screaming Eagle big bores.

Nice to hear and always thought when I wear out the stock motor or cannot ingnore the more power itch S&S would be the way to go. On a side note, what clear did you use? I want to do some repaint and reclear the tank.

S&s has always been good to me and that's why I continue to buy their products. Just last week I called them to buy some rubber covered washers for my stealth air cleaner. They said that they couldn't sell them to me but would just send them. Thanks s&s. I have always had good customer experiences with rush and Vance and Hines too

Glad to hear you got it taken care of. Out of curiosity, how do you cut the filters open? Wondering how you know which are the shavings from cutting it open, versus what's in the filter.

Great news, although I'm feeling a bit left out! My 107" has been fine for several years, so I hope yours does the same for you.

Use a screwdriver to punch a hole then some tin snips to cut it open.
