Winter Re-Fresh
Just got back from the shop, they've got my 93 FLHS almost done. I had:
New lifters installed
New EV27 cam (22 year old EV27 cam had some scoring on it)
New S&S pushrods
Jims Mega Nut for the output shaft
Reseal on the shift shaft
Fresh fluids
New tires (Dunlops. I wouldn't know how to ride a bike that had good tires on it)
Repack of wheel bearings
Check the tuning
All of the stuff I 'could' have done myself, but with my present work schedule and all the other commitments that seem to grow daily, it was best to take it to a shop that's done good work for me before.
Hope this last me another 10 - 15 years, when I'll be too old to hold it up....

In the middle of doing the same myself. 93 FLHS new rockers S&S new set of rocker boxes. Sifton steel pushrods, new solid chromed tappet blocks, Fueling Hydraulic lifters. Installed new breather to get the old hose's out of the AC. Replaced the rings and billet pushrod covers. Will have to wait on a cam next spring as ran short of funds. Should be fine till then. All started because of a rear cylinder leak. Just kept finding more might as well do it now stuff.
Either that or there's too much THC in Dripping Springs.......lol....

Great progress Hack! A few years ago I changed my pushrods to S&S - along with the rest of the engine! I got my 1990 FLHS back from the surgery just before Xmas. Now to finish off the rest of the darned thing. Trouble is we finished the riding season with both our solo bikes needing a bit of TLC, so I have a conflict of priorities.

Thanks guys! I just stopped by the shop today with my son (who's twin cam is in there for 'the works': Cams, upgraded tension plate, tires, etc.), and mine is done. They are going to start work on his next week, so everything is running on schedule.
The old EV27 cam had some questionable areas on it. I should've taken a pic of it, but there were a couple areas where the metal look like it was crystalizing. Along with some lines on the lobes. New Feuling lifters, so I figured I MAW go with a new cam.
It's 49 degrees and it was tempting to not taking it for a putt. Going to have to wait until April, but riding season will be here soon. I spent enough $$$ to get free winter storage, so better there right now.
