Do you all think it looks ok? It still doesn't block the wind coming up as i thought it would... Ordered from Surdyke, took exactly one month to get to my door as they had to paint them..

I look at it a certain way and I like it a lot. Then I look at it a different way and I don't like it because it seems kind of bulbous near the top.

Post the same picture of your bike without them on and it will be easier to decide.

Your bike looks great, but which way is better is the question.

I never understood lowers myself though. If it is too cold, wear warmer clothing. If your legs become fatigued from wind, your pants might be too loose and are acting like a parachute.

Then again, when I was younger, I always fantasized about riding a Softail Custom from the late 80's / early 90's and didn't understand touring bikes or even a Heritage at the time. These days, I can't imagine riding anything other than Heritage Softail Classic I now have.

Regardless, you have a great nostalgic looking bike. On top of that, there is something about guys that ride Evo's that is different than most twin cam riders for some reason. In other words, you are in good company.

Prot,
I do think your right in that they do look a little bulbous at the top. "Maybe even a lot bulbous" will take some getting use to and for what they cost I'm dam sure going to try and get used to them. I was hopeing they would stop most of the wind coming up from below the tanks... A friend suggested fork fangs? No Fing way will i put them on.. My sig pic shows the bike with out them. The white seat and grips have been removed to. One of my favorite bikes was the 94 heritage special i had but i lost that in a house fire... I know what you mean about the evo for sure...

If they serve the purpose of why you bought them who cares what other people think. I do not think they really detract from the overall look of your bike.
When it gets warmer out I'm guessing you will remove them for the summer. Anyway you look at them they should extend your cold riding comfort like you wanted.

Completely wrong question.
The only question where the answer matters is "Do I think it looks ok?".

You will always find people who like what you've done to your bike as well as people who don't like it.

For me personally I go for function over form.
I ask myself "Does it do what I want it to do?".
If yes then I keep it and if no then I get rid of it (whatever "it" is).

Of course Tex, I do however like to strike a balance between form & function.

For "looking at it", I liked your bike better without the lowers and with the white seat!

But for living with it, it's your bike. Do what you want.

Yes the Lepera seat was nice looking, but this is a case of function as the white seat was like sitting on a board..
