Are you loosening 3 turns from zero lash? You should be tightening the adjustment from zero lash. Preloading the lifter to about half of its designed travel.

Have you checked your tapped oil screen?

No I have not but I will right now. The front intake was tight I couldncouldn't turn it by hand. I also thing the inner pushrod tunes are hitting my adjustable pushrods as the old ones had the adjustment lower and we're not quickies

I cut the inner tunes 1inch just in case. Hopefully is was just that tight front intake.

How long did you run the motor? Even when filled with oil new lifters aren't necessarily full. It will take about 5-10 minutes of running it before it calms down. Also the type of pushrods matter and what their thread pitch is as far as how much preload you give them. Not just a generic turn number

If those are S&S quickie pushrods the TPI is 32 and you should really be putting them at 4 1/2 turns (27 flats) and if they are 24 TPI the 20 flats... Should quiet them down.. Also as others said it could take a good ride to quiet them down....

So you screwed out the pushrod til it wasn't sloppy in the lifter seat, then screwed it out 3 turns, correct?

Correct. I have been unable to remove the tappet screen because my socket with the standard head on it is missing and my largest screw driver just wants to eat up the soft metal. So until I am able to get get one (monday) because of work, I'm in a holding pattern
