Put new brake pads on last week, go to put battery
Back in I've got + side connected and when I
Connect the nuetral I get heavy sparks and light
Smoke, the battery is good and fully charged,
If I leave it connected it causes the start relay
To click about every 10 seconds, turn on ignition
I get nothing.
This ones got me going, been riding a long time, never
Seen this one before. HELP PLEASE

What bike?

Sounds like a big short somewhere. Probably not your start relay clicking, probably your main 30 amp breaker.

Are you sure you have the polarity correct? Follow the cables. The + goes to the starter solenoid, the - goes to the chassis. Never go by color. And look on the battery for the + molded into the battery.

OK, then you need to start tracing it down. Put an ohm meter across the leads with the battery disconnected. How many ohms resistance? I bet not many. Disconnect the main power at the 30 amp breaker under the seat. Any change? Then on to the breakers under the fairing.

You didn't pinch any wires, like the ones going to the turn signals or spot lights, did you? Inspect those really close looking for bare wire.

Make sure no part of the + cable is touching the frame or any kind of a ground. Did you have the cable loose at any point other than the battery itself?
