My son has a 07 Sporty Custom. He has had if for 2 years now with no problems. The other day he goes to ride and it will not start. Takes the battery out and has it tested, battery is bad. Puts a new battery in and the bike starts and runs fine. We do a 90 mile poker run with several stops and has no starting or electrical issues. He takes the bike home and parks it. 2 days (or so) later he jumps on the bike and it is so dead it won't even make a noise and all the lights are out.
Tried to jump start it with a "starter box" and it started right up no problem. After a couple of minutes he pulls that starter box off and the bike immediately dies. He has checked all the connections, circuit breakers and fuses he can find. they are all in working order. He says he never had the indicator light for the battery come on.
I think he pulled the key with it in the accessory setting and that caused the bike to drain the new battery. But what do I know
He is currently charging the battery and will see what happens when it is fully charged and back in the bike.
Anyone out there got any ideas on what may be going on, or other things to try before giving it to the local Indy?
