Default Electrical Issue- Headlamp

Hoping someone can point me in the right direction, I think I might have fried my main circuit breaker, not sure though.

I was replacing the front turn signals on my '95 Wide Glide, and was pulling the battery terminal off and on to test the signals as I was installing them. Well of course I forgot to turn the main switch off one time, put the terminal to the battery and saw the spark.

I can still start the bike, which is odd, and the left and right turn signals work. The lights on the dash show the turn signals as they blink. The headlight doesn't work and there is no hi/lo light on the dash when I hit the switch.

I can hook the battery up, and about every 3 seconds I"ll head a faint click and then a deep clunk. Whenever I hear this click/clunk the backlight on the dash will fade, but come right back on.

Any suggestions? I pulled the bottom 15a breaker out and bypassed it, but it didn't change anything.

Your Crocs wouldn't allow an alternative path for the current, wreaking havoc with the wiring harness.

Bad Idea.

You have a short somewhere, probably in whatever you were working on for the turn signals, or maybe in the dash.

Okay- more confused now. One of the turn signal lights had a short in the housing, pulled it apart and replaced the wiring. Wired everything back up, saw the headlight come on! No more clicking/clunking from the circuits.

I thought all was good until I realized...My front turn signals were lit, not flashing just lit. My rears aren't coming on at all, no indicator lights on the dash.

That's how they are supposed to work until you hit either of your turn signals or turn your flashers on.

Sorry I wasn't clear. At first I thought they weren't flashing at all when I hit the turn signal buttons.

Did some more testing, The right one blinks when I turn it on, left one doesn't. Rear left turn signal never comes on, from left just stays illuminated, no left turn signal on the dash.

A few years ago I put a LED rear brake/turn assemble on and I had to get a module to make the bike work correctly. The new front lights I got aren't LED, but they are a good bit smaller. Could this be the cause, they aren't drawing enough AMPs to blink.

Only other thought I have is that I fried the turn signal module when I arc'ed the battery.

I recently had turn signal troubles with one of my bikes.
It turned out to be an aftermarket module installed by PO.
The damn thing was made by Kuryakyn and if you have anything made by them on your bike I suggest you take it off.JMO
