Yeah I know the bolt is only like a buck but I still don't like having to replace a perfectly good part if I don't have to.

YMMV

If the new motor had as much power as the old one you would have a point.
However since the new motor has around twice the power of the old one it isn't the same thing.
I have upgraded many things on that bike what I haven't done is pull out a perfectly good part and replaced it with the same thing just for fun.

If not to badly fubaar'ed, you can always anneal the old ones with a propane torch and needle nose pliers to make em soft again. Just heat them up and let them cool naturally, no need to quench. YD

An old trick I learned on the HAMB. It works. Heat the washer until you see the torch flame turn greenish. Let air cool

Wait a sec guys.
I was taught to anneal copper differently than other metals.
It needs to be quenched after heating.
Here's a how-to:

If air cooling works for you that's great but I do it with quenching.

These washers can be bought with pocket change. Why would anyone spend time trying to recondition them?

O'Reilly's has the washers in two places. There is a consumer package on the sales floor out front. There are also some behind the counter that are from brake component manufacturers. They come in various sizes.

Long ago I used to work at O'Reilly's, and before that it was Hi//Lo

That job sucked btw. Pay was terrible and 90% of people that walked in the door were already pissed off because their car was broken.
