Default Pulley alignment

Hey guys, I've got a question regarding front to rear pulley alignment. I just rebuilt trans in my 86 FLT, new bearings and main shaft gear, replaced front pulley and ran a straight edge on the outside of the pulleys and came up with about a 1/8 -3/16 difference with the front pulley being inboard. is this normal or is something out of whack? I did pull that main shaft gear tight to the main bearing in the case. Any thoughts. Thanks

Do you have the correct sprocket spacer....33334-85?

The newer 33344-94 spacer is not as wide.

Which is not the one you want...you need the wider one...then your pulleys will be aligned

1/8 is such a small amount.

If the front pulley is a little wider allowing belt float none, a close fit width wise it'll start eating the side of the belt.

That doesn't happen if the trans pulley is too far in...no where for it to go in the rear pulley.
