Default 94 FXDS-CONV insurance ?

Hello All. Insurance renewal time gives Me anger and a question to the EVO peeps. I got a letter from insurance company saying one of Your motorcycles is over 25 years old. Do You still want to insure it ( in so many words ) ? Just would like to hear Your thoughts.

Question

Here in the UK we have insurance companies who specialise in older vehicles. Are there any doing something similar in the USA? Nationwide you must have large numbers of owners driving and riding truly old vehicles.

I've never gotten a letter from any company inviting me to buy less of what they are selling!

For me, insurance on bikes is so ridiculously cheap, I don't really think about it. My policy on both bikes is something like $18/mo, and that includes full coverage, including $10,000 "agreed value" on each of them.

In most states you have to carry liability...an insurance company is not going to pay much of anything on a vehicle that old in case of a total loss...

You can get "agreed value" insurance on "classic" vehicles but it usually has stipulations on how the vehicle is stored, and how many miles a year you can ride it..

That's similar to over here, but the mileage can often be set at one of several bands. I had a classic car for several years and insured it like that (a 'little' Aston Martin!).
