Default Relay for Starter Button

So, I want to put a starter button on the handle bar on my bobber. The button states that it needs a relay. I assume that is due to the current draw for starting. Anyone know what type of relay I would need? I can wire with a diagram but, have no idea about what to get to do this. Any suggestions? Thanks

Throw "chopper wiring diagram" into your Google and have a look. There's a bunch of them out there. You should be able to find one that suits your build.

Good old bosch 5 pin relay, the higher the amp rating, the better. You might have to look around, but try to stay away from the cheap ones. Get a good brand name one. YD

You already got your answer, but if you put "12v relay" into an eBay search you'll get many options. I like the waterproof ones. I recently replaced the two on my bike for less than $8 total.

Well, Goter done. Finally had a chance to do the install. Hardest part was hiding all the wires under the tank. Not much room under there. LOL Turned out so easy, I did another one on the other side for a future horn. Gotta figure out where to relocate the ignition switch first. Gonna use the original style cow bell horn but, my ignition switch is in that spot at the moment.

Starter Button.

Nice, used those switches before they ever get wet a shot of WD-40 is a good thing or they get sticky.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. They were advertised as water proof but, we all know how that goes. LOL
