Good luck

if the bike starts to leak from the trans the front pulley splines are probably on the way out. I had to replace the main gear too because the pulley got so loose it destroyed the splines on the main gear. the OEM pulley is about 1/2 inch wide in the spline area the revised upgraded pulley is 3/4 of an inch, but I wouldn't change anything until you start to have problems with it.

I got a 85 FLHT? up and running for a friend of mine. Only thing of note was the aftermarket parts books were wrong a lot of the time. Not a big deal if you get a model correct factory book, but creates some headaches with the likes of JPcycles and other online shops.

Go for it! The only downside I can imagine is that if you have to find a replacement seat, it might be a bit cumbersome.

I have a 1985 FLHTC. they have weak cases prone to crack. As for the rear caliper, I would like to know where to source a decent rebuild kit? I have one for the rear master cylinder but cant seem to find one for the rear caliper.

43946-79 is the part# for 1 piston, seal and boot. you will need 2 of the kits because the caliper has 2 pistons..

So you are able to order through the dealer? I have tried here but was told they don't make this kit any longer. Well I will try again with the part number you have me. Worth a shot thanks.
