fire on the bench, but coil is testing good and none of the wires are crispy,,please help i'm riding to the beach in 3 weeks, and i'd like to figure this out before i go,,any help much appreciated

my guess thecompu-fire ignition would be your problem, I had three different compu-fire ignitions that I sent back that did the same as yours, I've had no luck with compu-fire, or you could have a fuel delivery problem, petcock or float level problem temperately running out of gas then filling back up
Yea when i pulled the tank to get to the coil i decided to pull the petcock and it had a lot of trash on the screen,,,,got a new 45 a couple months ago and was putting rounds thru it,,and a bullit ricocheted into the garage, and hit the tank of my FLHS,,so i had to get a used tank off EBAY,,and it wasn't as clean as i thought,,i happened to have a Pingle high flow on the bench so i'm gonna try that too....i've had good luck with that compufire ,,about 10 years old .....,,,thanks man

As for the OP. did you do a full flow test to the carb as well as checking the float level?
