Early case, later flywheel
'88 case with '97 flywheel assembly. What do you guys do to get the cam cover to fit? 1) Turn down the pinion nut 2) cut pinion bushing a little deeper or Both. Any advice. Asking for a friend.
Thanks. I think all Evo pinion shafts are end oilers, and so are the cam covers. Early shovelheads had side oiler holes, I believe. Just wanted to see if anyone has put one together. Clearance of the pinion gear nut is the only issue I can foresee, but I'll do more research on it. Just looking at putting together a swapmeet special engine to learn and have some fun. Covid thing has stopped all local swapmeets, and I have no idea when they will pick up again.
Just finished truing flywheels numbers look good. 001 at crank .003 at pinion race ...monted them in brand new s&s case took another raeding at pinion number was high .007 .....any ideas why
