Default Exhaust

I had to sand my exhaust on my 85 Lowrider, so that it would get it’s luster back. And it almost looks chrome again. I stopped at 2500 grit. But now I need to find something to keep the exhaust from blue in a couple of spots. What can I do to stop it from discoloring

This is what I need to stop from happening. The idiot that had her before me had sanded the exhaust so that it looked like polished aluminum. I brought it back to almost chrome but I need to stop this from happening. ???

The blueing effect is from heat which really can't be avoided when you're dealing with chrome. You can certainly reduce it by running it a little richer but it will eventually blue again. Heat shields will cover it up.

Where did the heat shields go? I would try to find a set and tune the bike properly and the "Ride on Brother"....

monkeyboy22 is right. Header pipes will turn blue from intense heat. No way around that. That is why the MOCO has always covered the header pipes with some type of heat shield. http://www.2040-parts.com/vintage-ha...r-oem-i476537/
