Best evo lifters.
Getting ready to do lifters cam bearing and maybe a ev 27 cam. Depends on what I have in their. What are your guys suggestions on lifters. Been looking at the fueling ones. Anyone have good experience with them
Fueling lifters are good, but it's like they don't de-bur the edges of the machined areas, you can feel the sharp edges, and they will scratch the lifter bores.
It doesn't take much to smooth them with some 1500 wet/dry sandpaper.
A set of Evo lifters I used years ago were like that, and recently, after measuring the lifter bores on my Twincam and ordering +.001 oversize, they wouldn't even drop in until I cleaned them up.
Then some time later, I ran across this video and at 1:15, found out T-man does the same, except instead of grease in the oil hole, I disassembled the lifters and also melted candle wax on the roller bearings to seal them before smoothing them. They drop right in with no shake after the "lifter prep".

B's will hold up on a Andrews, I run S&S's but a little different creature.

Went to Harley yesterday and they want 75 per lifter. ( for the Oem ones)That would be almost 400 bucks after tax. Screaming eagle is around 300 bucks. I thought screaming eagle was supposed to be a better lifter. Are the S&s without limiters any good. Any failures? Any suggestions on another brand
I'm of the belief (don't know for certain) that most, if not all USA made Evo lifters come from 3 or less manufacturing facilities, and are built to specs provided by the contractor, not unlike batteries.
Stock can be purchased individually. SE lifters come in sets of 4 only, and other than the SE laser script on the body, probably the same unit. (?)
I've read of 3 or 4 failures out of the box with the hydraulic part on S&S over the past year. But that's third hand info so take it for what it may, or may not be worth.
Roller failure is almost non-existent with any (expensive) brand name lifters, including OEM. I've never heard of an out of the box failure of any kind with OEM or SE lifter failure.
