What kinds meter are you using? just curious
If the battery has been on a charger then turn it on and start it a couple or leave the lights on for 3-4min.
See what voltage reading you get.
1 Battery voltage not running
2 Battery voltage with bike idling
3 Battery voltage with bike at high idle

Opps Have you done anything to address the 14.7 v you mentioned a few posts back
I'll catch up in min. dang it

It's just a cheap multimeter, only trickle charge in the winter,I thought 14.7 volts would be normal after a start up to replenish the battery.

The point with the 14.7 v is that is to much voltage.
It can hurt the battery along with a possibility of helping create your problem you mentioned in the 1st post.

Voltage at 2k rpm should be NO More than 14.2.
I know it doesn't like much but it is.
This is the point of having / access to a good meter to get accurate readings

So today I decided to screw around and disconnected the regulator plug and ground, unbolted it and let it hang.
Started the bike and I still get the tach bounce and the headlight flickering, so now I'm thinking it has nothing to do with the stator or regulator.
Leaning towards the Dyna S ignition or the coil that came with it, maybe something in between like a breaker. I don't know...

I would tend to think that it's something to do with a poor connection. I believe that all the power to the bike is routed through the ignition switch. I would look at the connections there.. A DWG has the switch on the dash, they can become waterlogged.. I'd check the switch and the wire connectors to the switch.

Does the ignition have it's own feed separate from the lighting? Another thing I would do is disconnect your headlight and see if your tach keeps jumping or fluttering however you put it.. You got to remember that an LED headlight is a diode and they flicker when on and they're not like constantly on like an incandescent or a fluorescent.. That could be the whole cause of your problem with your tach even, this is what I'm getting at..

I think from that video is that it is an idle issue not a charging issue???? Bump up the idle a bit. That Tach may be a little ptimistic.
