I'm sure it will be around long after the 05 is gone.

1998 FXDL-bought used with 4,000 miles in December 1998. Currently with about 20,000 miles. New belt only.

1998 FLHTC-bought new in fall of 1997. Currently has just a little over 180,000 miles. Never been into other than I changed out the INA cam bearing to the Torrington. Super reliable machine!

1998 FLHTCUI-bought used last year with 50,000 miles. Currently has about 57,000 miles. I have had to replace the cylinder base gaskets, transmission pulley, several gaskets pertaining transmission/primary, and replaced the INA cam bearing to the Torrington. I also had to replace the motor mount, IAC motor, and several various little things. The exhaust had a large crack at the Y and had to have that welded. Both vertical and horrizontal innerfaring brackets were broke. Nice bike.....but so far has proven to be a "bike that has to be worked on."

1999 FXDS-Conv.-recently sold. Had around 37,000 troublefree miles, except the cam bearings went out at 7,000 miles and the timing chain tensioners were shot at 20,000 miles.

1991 FXSTS had 45,000 on the speedo when I got her. Met the original owner and found out he had changed the speedo around 10,000 miles. I put over 150,000 miles and about four more speedos on it before anything major happened to the motor. I put a new RevTec 100" in her and that lasted for over 50,000 miles before the main bearing gave it up. Had it rebuilt and she has about 3,000 on the rebuild (I have a second bike now that I bought just before the rebuild was finished with over 8,000 on it)

If you take care of them they will last.
