Default Spotlamp Hardware

Trying to think of a way to get rid of these black rubber pieces around the spot lamp mounting bar on my 97 Heritage. It almost looks like I could just get shorter chrome bolts and do away with them? Not a big deal, just thought I could clean up the look a bit.

They've been on the bike since I've had it, but not sure of the purpose.

They're for mounting the detachable windshield. Windshield docking point bushings.

Thanks for the info, I did not know that. Since I never use a windshield, maybe I can change it to something different.

All FLSTC models of the EVO and Twin Cam era used the same hardware for mounting the auxiliary lamps.

Here is the parts breakdown:

I’m sure you could remove the windshield hardware and replace it with chrome or stainless fasteners.

The original configuration uses a bolt that goes through the lamp bracket, a spacer, then into the upper triple clamp.

Here is my `89 FLSTC, all OEM components (your `97 uses all the same parts according to the HD microfiche).

Thanks guys.

I had some spare chrome spacers, so I used those for now.
