Default Compliance fittings

I'm installing new compliance fittings on my 85 evo. Does anyone know if I should use gasket sealer, and if so what kind?

No gasket sealer. The best thing to do with the compliance fittings is to throw them away and go to a later style manifold.

+1 on scraping the compliance fittings. They will go again in a year or two. I went with a plastic Screaming Eagle manifold. If you already have them, put em on and research your options.

It was the single most effective modification I've made to my 89.

i had bought the original 1989 fittings and put them on, not having access or cash for the later carb setup which is better.
then about 100km later on the recommendation of an older HD mechanic, i tightened them again - worked wonders, the screws or fitting had settled in, or something, a little, just enuff for air leak, and after the second torque of the screws holding them on, along with some of my favorite removable thread locker, have been fine ever since. Now to save the $$$$ for the conversion on a pension.
