Schooner, from the bottom of the bag to the top of the bottom rail is 3-5/8".

Exclamation Hey Doc . . . that would be GREAT

Hey Dr.Hess

WOW! That would be a saving grace Dr.

Yeah you got it right Doc. I forgot to take that measurement where I wanted the 1 1/2" to 2" stripe to go.

When you give me the measurment from the bottom of you saddle bag to the top of bottom railing I when will come up about 3/16th" to 3/8th" of a inch from
the measurment you're going to give me.

Thanks Doc.

See attachment and notice the small pin stripping between the two railing on the saddle bag. To get a better idea of what I want my painter to do.

Schooner, I'll look this evening. If I understand what you want, you want the distance from the bottom of the sadelbag to the top of the lower side rail, right?

Thumbs up Its Guys Like YOU Dr.Hess That Make This Forum GREAT

Hey Dr.

Really appreciate your helping this 70 yr. ol' man.

Now this weekend I can give this measurment to my buddy painter.

From: 3 5/8" up and maybe I'll just clear the rail by adding another 3/8th" and then run a 2" strip thru the s/bag.

It will be awhile before the bike is completely finished but you can bet I'll be posting pics of it when its DONE.

THANKS AGAIN Dr.Hess

P.S. Doc ~ Hit the attachment and you'll see a BIGGER picture of the saddle bag small pin stripe

Kinda looks like your bottom rail is drooping a bit. You can just grab it and bend it back up to level. And I see you have the late style rear floor boards. That's good because the early ones (early 86 was the last year) are NLA and you have to replace the swingarm bearing holder thingie to use the later ones.

Good luck with it.
