clutch going crazy

Default clutch going crazy

last week clutch went out so i adjusted a half inch of slack out then rode it today for a sec and it was fine but on the way home the clutch went out again and there is no room for adjustment and now there is oil leaking all around the primary and it seems to run hot? anyone else had this problem? or anyone know what it might be? btw its an 85 flhtc evo

Pull the primary cover and have a look. Soon. Let us know what you find.

I think you need new clutch plates at the very least...

I think you might also have a deteriorating cable on the tranny end!

Also check ypur throwout bearing. They are famous for going out.

Strange, mine did the same thing last week, was riding along, pulled the clutch and and got nothing but freeplay.. I drove with the clutch engaged until I could adjust the slack out of the cable. Got back and pulled the cover, loosened the cable off, then adjusted it at the clutch, seems fine now but I have no idea what the hell happened, clutch plates only have 15,000 on them, The lock nut at the clutch was tight, and the push rod looked good, I'm stumped for now, will have to wait see if it happens again.
