So today I got another hoop. I ground off the welds for the mounting brackets since they wont work on the earlier frame anyhow. The hoop is a little smaller than the spread of the rear frame horns and I have to grind down the ends so I can get them into the frame. Will figure out more tomorrow.

How did you make out making the hoop fit? I just got home from holidays and hoop was waiting for me, I see what you mean now , this hoop is narrower than the frame hole ends. I think what I'm going to do is get one of these
60277-07 and mount it above my tail lite, my only concern is if my tail lite and signal lites are presently mounted too high and make the license plate braket look weird.

Been still playing with it, havent figured out the mounting yet.......to many projects, not enough time.

Were you thinking of mounting that direct to the fender?

Yes it'll go directly above the stock taillite.
I'm going to sell the stock rack with lites and licence bar bracket on ebay to recover some cost.

Never thought about that......will continue to play with the hoop till I screw this one up too, or get it to mount up.

I got the plate bracket installed.it was only 2 bolt holes to drill but of course I make a mountain of a mole hill. Working afternoon shift all week so get little time to work on it. Going to go out after coffee and get the wires I snipped under fender resoldered and see if I can manage to get it remounted. After paint job everything seems to take twice as long.

Pics! That just may be the way to go and add some lights to the frame horns and be done with it
